“ Such a cute place! The food was amazing and just loved the look of the place! Was planning on going this weekend but we saw it’s closed until September! Definitely plan on going back soon. The waitress was so kind and I felt bad because of how big of a group we were! She had a lot of patience. ”
“ The vibe of this place is really good with high ceilings it is a proper brunch spot to hangout with small or large groups. Food was really good we ordered French toast and grilled cheese. We loved the grilled cheese and tomato bisque. French toast needs some more fruits to cut down the sweetness as it’s very sweet. The potatoes on the side were bland lack of flavor. Overall we loved the taste and flavors. Prep and pastry is a very busy place over weekends. The street seems to be full of restaurants it’s was very busy over weekend the wait times are longer do make a reservation. ”
“ I was in the mood for chicken-n-waffles this fine Sunday morning, and Google let me know there were several options nearby. Among those options was Prep and Pastry, a new place in old town Gilbert we've been wanting to check out. My early morning cravings gave us the perfect opportunity to do just that. The atmosphere was very bright, clean, and cherry. The staff was attentive and courteous. Our server, "T," as she referred to herself for easy prounouciation (I'll take all the help I can get), was terrific and took excellent care of us. The coffee was fruity and better than most restaurant house coffee. They didn't have wafffles (strike one, Google!), so I did their Chicken and Toast, close enough. The chicken was boneless fried chicken tenders and quite tasty. My wife chose the Harissa Shaksurka. She described it as flavorful, and the herbs were fresh. The only negative was the long herb stems. They're great for the visual presentation, but tough to navigate into your mouth and not onto your new shirt (bummer). My assessment of a place has a lot to do with if I'd want to come back and if I'd order the same thing again. The answer to both is yes. There are several things on the menu I'd like to try, and I hope "T" is there to take care of us again! ”
“ such a fun new spot in downtown gilbert! the atmosphere is beautiful and the food is delicious! everything was wonderful. the only thing we noticed was that the staff didn’t seem particularly friendly or warm. it’s easy for there not to be an established staff culture when a restaurant first opens, but while the staff served us well and met all our needs, they felt a bit cold and stand-offish. again, wonderful experience but a warmer staff (from hostess to servers) would make it just that much more outstanding. ”
“ Inventive breakfast, brunch or lunch dishes beyond the normal omelets and pancake fare. Service was quick and friendly. I had their version of poutine which was tasty and filling. My dining partner had the monte Cristo sandwich which was served on brioche French toast. Neither of us could finish our entrees. Large portions. Decorations are light and airy, outdoor seating as well. There are options to go on wait list via their web site. ”
“ I love everything on the menu here, especially the "shaved steak sandwich"! Nothing has come close to being as good as that yet! The atmosphere is friendly and warm, service is fantastic, and the price isn't bad for what you're being served. I've never had a bad server, everyone is very kind. They sell pastries but run out quickly some days, so I try to get there before 10am. ”
“ Loved this place in Tucson. So glad they are here in Gilbert now. The food was amazing. The Mimosas were good but the butterfly pea coffee!!! The best!!! Highly recommend it. The coffee was the best I've had in a while. It tastes amazing and looks cute. Got carried away and forgot to take pictures of the food! ”
“ What a lovely new place for downtown Gilbert! The atmosphere was clean, bright and fresh! It took a moment for anyone to notice we were at the hostess desk, but we could have easily sat at the bar. Love that there are multiple sections for seating including the bar, outside patio and indoor seating. Once seated we loved the variety of options for adult beverages as well as coffees. We ordered the steak sandwich and the biscuits and gravy. Both were absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed some mimosas while chowing down on some delicious food. The biscuits were cheddar and herb infused, which was lovely! The only critique I have for a restaurant that’s only been open 3 weeks was that the staff was a bit all over the place. We had one member tell us they’d be our server then another one swooped up and took our order. Eventually we just realized all staff was just helping all areas. So no real critique, just was confused for a small amount of time! Ha! Overall, a wonderful place and will definitely be going back!! ”
